Everybody’s talking about the new 6th Avenue theme song and dance. The 6th Avenue Stroll (download the MP3 - lyrics) song was written by Christopher List, performed by his band, TUSKA, and recorded at Pacific Studios. Hats off to recording engineer/sound alchemist Jeffery Evans!

From the opening “GET DOWN T-TOWN!” The 6th Avenue Stroll will have you up and dancing to the hippest, most eclectic and fun shopping, entertainment, and business district in Tacoma!
Tuska is a Tacoma Band performing their own blend of Rock, Blues, Motown, and Swing Dance music. With an original CD in the works, and dancing audiences calling for more, Tuska is never far from the stage or studio.
When asked about The Sixth Avenue Stroll, Christopher List remarked “I felt inspired to use a rhythm which carries the excitement, as well as the mellow romance of the Ave, and came up with a Swing tune. Three of us in Tuska were also in Society Swing and Timestep (swing bands) from Seattle, so were able to create a sound that we hope Sixth Avenue, and Tacoma, will be dancing to for a long time. We have an extended live version, as most of our music is improvisational in nature, and it is always fun to interact dynamically with the audience!”
